It was donated by Dr. Barry Booth, with the Honor Flight South Alabama Program
The flag presentation was made to the school in appreciation for the school's support of the Honor Flight South Alabama Program. The flag presentation was made during a school wide assembly in which the guest of honor was Iona Quinley, a World War II veteran, and also the mother of school principal, Leah Ann Overstreet. Quinley served as a Drill Instructor in the Women's Army Corp during World War II. She was stationed at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia during her tenure in the service. Students in the 21st Century Community Learning Center's after school program made patriotic head rests for the Honor Flight South Alabama Participants.
